Volunteer Opportunities

Our Jenison and 28th St. stores need volunteers to sort, inspect and organize donations and re-stock shelves on a weekly, consistent basis. Just three hours per week will help greatly. This service ministry is ideal for individuals, couples and small church groups. All store profits are used to support the work of Mel Trotter Ministries.
Volunteer licensed dentists and dental hygienists are needed to help staff our dental clinic. A commitment of one day per month Monday through Friday is requested. Please contact nancybonin@meltrotter.org or (616) 588-8711.

Serve as a mechanic in our Vehicle Donation Program.
Volunteers with backgrounds as CNAs, LPNs, MAs, and Paramedics are needed to help staff our newly renovated Shelter for Public Inebriates. Minimum Requirements: training in first aid and CPR. Preferences: strong medical assessment skills and ability to work with inebriated people. Help during all shifts is needed for 5, 8, 10, or 12 hours.
