Non-profit organizations are more important than ever in our society. From economic turmoil to family disintegration, the need for help has never been greater. Metro Grand Rapids is blessed with many innovative non-profit organizations.
At the same time, we know that leading a non-profit organization can be both rewarding and difficult. These leaders carry heavy burdens and great responsibilities. Mel Trotter’s LEIP Fellowship is focused on the needs of this important group – both spiritual and practical.
LEIP stands for “Leaders Engaged in Prayer.” Members meet once a month for breakfast at the Mel Trotter building in downtown Grand Rapids. In addition to heart-felt prayer and reflection, we take time to share our concerns and learn from each other. New friendships are formed within a supportive Christian environment.
“LEIP has reaffirmed the need for professional network and support in the non-profit sector. It offers me great time for prayer and professional support….We need to live and work with clear principles as a daily foundation. The principles other LEIP members identify for themselves are often very helpful for me. It’s a reminder to praise and pray my way through my work.”
-- Local Executive Director and LEIP Member
“LEIP members come to understand that we all have the same issues...It strengthens us in a variety of ways, including relationship-building, learning and mutual support.”
-- Non-Profit Leader and LEIP Member
